very good

While having a new kitchen fitted we had the old central heating boiler re-located to another room and the result was a big drop in tempreture in that part of the room. After talking to a plumber friend he suggested a plinth heater that ran off the central heating. After looking on amazon i found this particular plinth heater and ordered it straight away. It came with 3 different colour front grills, was very easy to fit and it automatically comes on when the central heating reaches a certain temperature. It has 2 fan speeds and can be used just as a cooling fan in the summer. It has made the world of difference to the temperature in the room and is only costing the extra electric to run the fan. For the price, compared to a local builders merchants, it was half the price. Thoroughly recommended.

Great value under-plinth heater
By Jimbob036
I used one of these units to provide heating in a small conservatory, as there was little wall space available to fit a conventional radiator. I built a small box around the unit, and it sits nicely in the corner of the room. There are two switches on the faceplate, one of which allows the electric fan to run continuously to provide background air circulation (summer mode), or to come on when the central heating water reaches a certain temperature (winter mode). The other switch allows the fan to be set at high or low speed, or off. It's also nice that the fascia plate has grilles on either side of the outlet to allow air to be drawn into the enclosure, so you don't have to worry about providing a separate air intake. I also plumbed a thermostatic radiator valve into the circuit, just to provide a bit of extra control of the room temperature.Overall, a great product, and very reasonably priced. It connects to the central heating circuit via flexible hoses with isolation valves, so it's easy to remove the unit for servicing. It also comes with a choice of 3 faceplates (black, white & stainless steel) to match the decor. The only extra thing I would have liked, would be a built-in TRV so that the output temperature could be finely tuned- but this would probably push the price of the unit up- besides, this can be easily added during installation.
