Cast iron log wood burner arrived at my house not fit for purpose, but a fire hazard and seller refused to replace item, stay clear from the seller, Item had a smashed front screen and broken cast iron door, I though they were built to last? Seller told me to claim through my house insurance insteading of replacing the faulty item, So if you want a fire hazard cast iron log burner buy from This seller.

I purchased this stove at the beginning of the year. I live in Spain but I could only have it delivered to a UK address. It was sent to a friends house and I then had it sent by FedEx. This was a fast efficient service and a third of the cost of any other carriers. It was noted that I inspect the item before signing the receipt as claims for damage cannot be made afterwards. It arrived in Spain in good condition. A few screws were loose but these could have been dislodged during transport as they are only finger tight. I have had it fitted and have just started to run it in as per instructions. The only comment about it is that the opening to put in logs is a bit small due to the deflector plate position. Only smallish logs can be used. It appears very efficient and is satisfactory for my needs.

Stylish, gorgeous coffee......

I've had my cream Artisan Espresso machine for about a month now and I'm delighted with it. I had wanted to move on from stove top mocha express devises and had been researching pumped Espresso machines for a while, the KitchenAid took me with a first glance! This is a stunning piece of industrial design, infinitely better looking in the flesh than in pictures and if you fall for it's looks than nothing else will do!So how dose it perform? Wonderfully well! The very first shot of Espresso pulled was just great including a near perfect creama, what more could you ask for? There is no point in me regurgitating the technical specifications of the machine but I'm sure that the twin boilers are a considerable asset because the brew water is never over heated while you have steam ready all the time and of course once you are adept you can brew and steam at the same time. I'm inclined to think that a commercial grade 58mm chrome plated brass portafilter is essential as this really dose hold its temperature and leads to greater consistency. The supplied tiny plastic tamper is really quite inadequate other than to get you started, I've now purchased a Reg Barber one which is an immense improvement allowing the ideal compacting of any grind of coffee into the portafilter, this is important as it's one of the greatest influences on the extraction of the coffee. The supplied milk jug is nice but a little on the small side, only suitable for single helpings of Cappuccino, no big deal really as a twin shot of Espresso makes one Cappuccino!Negatives! Right, the largest hassle with the Artisan is the change from steam to hot water and this dose take a bit of time, your expecting water but end up with spitting steam, the manual dose remark on this but it's a pain, you need a largish jug to dump this into because it's quite messy, no, very messy! I was making Americano the other day and got this wrong, we are talking coffee everywhere here! This is something I have not as yet sorted out, again no big deal as a kettle is simpler anyway!In conclusion this is a great Espresso machine and I am recommending it, there is also a matching coffee grinder that I will be purchasing soon, these will look beautiful together and I will post my experience with it soon.If you are considering a pumped Espresso machine and you like the look of the KitchenAid, just go for it! It is the real thing!

Day 1, and I already love it!

The KitchenAid range was recommended by a friend and as soon as I saw pictures I wanted one. I was concerned by some of the online reviews, after all these years of waiting and at this price I didn't want to be disappointed. I took the plunge and mine was finally delivered today.So, I followed the instructions and set up; I met with problems from the word go. I started to clean the two boilers as instructed. The machine was so noisy and loud when I switched on the pump I was sure something wasn't quite right. I pressed on though, first cleaning the brewing boiler which although loud seemed to work. Next I tried cleaning the frothing boiler but I had no luck with this at all and whatever I tried could not get any water out of the frothing nozzle. This problem had been noted in many of the reviews I'd read. I gave up in the end and decided to froth some milk and make my first coffee.I'd never used an espresso machine before and my first attempt was poor, tasting nothing like the coffee house cappuccino I love. The milk frothed ok, but the espresso shot was weak and my cappuccino tasted equally watery. I read 'troubleshooting' again and decided it must be to do with the siphon hoses. BINGO! The noise disappeared and a second attempt at dispensing hot water was an instant success. The key here seems to be to make sure the clear siphon tube (not the black one) touches the bottom of the water tank. My machine was delivered with the tube about half way into the tank (which I thought was odd) - a gentle pull cured this and now the tube rests on the bottom.Brilliant, my second cup was much improved and really smooth. I even managed to get the elusive crema and I have high hopes of improvement with some more practice.I agree that the accessories provided with the machine are only a basic starter kit and I will be investing in a tamper, a larger jug and a milk thermometer really soon.Until then it's practice makes perfect (I won't be sleeping tonight - I' buzzing with caffeine!!). I'd say go for it and I'm looking forward to enjoying my machine.

Moderate delight

This may be because I am not doing it right; because the coffee is too or not well enough ground but ... I simply can't get this machine to produce a good creme. Having owned fully automatic machines by Jura and Gaggia in the past (once they break down that's it) this was a bit disappointing. I can live with coffee from a cafetiere (excellent) but you really miss the occasional espresso. So far - four weeks in - I haven't managed it with this machine. The coffee seems wet and burnt. It is a solid, well made machine but it is not doing what I want. Nor have I found it great at frothing milk but I don't like hot milk and rarely use it so this may be a factor.

form fails function

This is a pretty kettle, and works well enough, but there are enough bugs to warrant serious complaint at this price. i'll do it as a list:1. It is a lovely stylish shape, but the narrow top makes it hard to fill from the tap, and when full near the limit, water gets "locked" somehow in the neck of the kettle, only coming out at a trickle. also, the shape makes it smaller than other kettles, and it is very, very, fussy about being overfilled.2. It is lovely smooth, enameled, metal on the exterior; but with little or no insulation. this means that the kettle is far to hot to lift except by the handle, and the shape of the handle means that my knuckles bang against it often... ouch3. All of the necessary functions are "digitally" controlled from the lovely handle, this includes a "digital" water gauge. this is, without doubt, the most over engineered, and unsuccessful piece of the whole kettle. the water gauge measure only 5 different volume-levels in the kettle; you either have too little, too much, or somewhere in the middle. and it's an approximation at best: if you move the kettle, then the water splashes around, and the gauge reads fuller than it actually is for quite a while as the (i presume) sensors in the, stupidly complex, kettle dry out. at times, this gauge goes totally wonky, assuring you that the kettle is full when in fact bone dry. this then makes the kettle turn itself off with a loud "pop," before sulking off in a dark mood for a moment or two. at other times, it decides that the kettle is too full to work... all in all, a simple window in the side would have done the job a whole lot better, with more precision and accuracy.4. The digital functions are battery back-upped, so the lovely display still reads when you are filling it (so that you can continue to be misled about how much water is in the kettle, even when it isn't plugged in!) however, the battery life, according to the manual, is only two years; and it needs to be changed by a registered dealer. i can hear, well designed, cash registers ker-chinging for years as i type.on top of which, it actually isn't all that quick, the build quality seems no better than my old siemens kettle and it is bloody expensive.looks nice, though, and i suppose if you find convernsation difficult with your guests, this kettle is one way to get started.

Do not waste your money on this kettle. I bought the white version and started having problems with it after 1 week! It looks beautiful but lacks functionality. It is extremely sensitive about being over filled, due to its' shape it is awkward to fill, it regularly needs a total reset to work, the paint is peeling off, the lid no longer closes and the customer care service in Italy is non existent. Beautiful Junk

Looks uber cool upon unpacking, but paint is peeling and temperature control is not working.We've never tried to do anything fancy with it - just press one button to boil. Less then a year after the paint is gone from the button, there is rust inside, display shows gibberish and temperature control doesn't stop the boiling.Here comes the dumpster.

Please dont waste your money

I purchased this kettle as i really wanted a wow factor kettle. this really is 10/10 for looks. However the on/off lettering rubbed off afer two weeks and after four weeks the kettle stopped working. Pure and utter junk and i am awaiting Bugatti to collect the kettle and return my money.

Bugatti Kettles....Don't Bother

This is our second attempt with this kettle and is being returned after five days. We really should have paid attention to previous reviews but were advised that a new batch had resolved the problems. This is not the case! This is an expensive item and is really not worth the effort. Bugatti should stick to what they know as they don't seem to be able to make reliable kettles!

Avoid at all costs!

Similar to other reviews I have had to return two of these kettles as they were faulty. After just 2 weeks the kettle completley stopped working and we had to resort to boiling water on a pan, not what you expect for £185! Does really look very good and we had loads of comments about it from friends and family but it simply does not work! Awaiting a refund. Avoid this product.

Baby Twin

This is a super espresso machine, the ability to steam milk and instantly produce espresso is a great feature. The controls are super easy, with single and double espresso buttons which came be preset. The single has a pre-infusion which ensures the coffee is damp before extraction. You also have the ability to manually pull an espresso using the m button. The steam nozzle is excellent and produces consistently good milk but you do have to keep the pin sized hole near the top clean to ensure it works well. Overall it works exceptionally well and looks fab on the counter top. A*

consider a BABY CLASS D instead

The new Baby range is excellent! However, after giving the Baby Twin a test drive I swapped it for a Baby Class D and was much happier. The problem with the Baby Twin is that it does not have 2 boilers; it uses a heating element between the boiler and the steamer to create steam 'instantly'. In reality this is NOT the case. When you open the steam valve water will come out until the element has reached optimum temperature. This means not only do you have to wait between 10-15 secs for steam but you have to keep emptying the drip tray! Once the steam starts being released it has about half the power of the Baby Class D (the same machine but with a single boiler). My Baby Twin experience was not great....Go for the Baby Class D, it's an amazing machine.

Great Coffee, with practice, Every time

We have had a Baby Twin for nearly four years now and it gets used everyday. It takes a little practice and planning to get your "ritual" right, but once you're there, this machine is a corker. One of the reviewers prior to this claims there is not instant steam, well, I'm afraid in my experience, it's as instant as any (more expensive) units. Obviously you need to clear the condensate in the system, so it will expel 10ml or so of water before the steam gets going, but this only takes 10 seconds.The coffee making itself is spot on. The machine doses well and just makes great coffee.If you're buying this or any other (non capsule) espresso machine, here are a few tips...a) Milk Jug.. Get yourself a nice stainless jug with a "bulgy bottom". This helps get your swirl on, heats the milk evenly and makes getting the right froth simple. Milk MUST be ice cold when you start too.b) Tamping. Gaggia give you a nice little plastic tamper for the coffee (Tamping is squishing the coffee firmly into the filter) but I would advise getting a nice heavy tamper from a specialist. It makes the action easier, and a tad more "tactile".c) Use the right coffee. Illy is best, Red Caffe Macinato and keep it in the fridge. It's not the most popular coffee in cafés in Europe for no reason. Grinding your own (unless you have a bean to cup machine) is all very well, but it's a faff and it's messy no matter how hard you try!d) Pressure! - 15bar in a Gaggia enough, any more is a bonus.e) Infussion - Gaggia's pre-infuse coffee before delivery. This "sets up" up the coffee releasing the flavour better. Look for this feature on whatever you buy, it's important. The Baby Twin does not do this on a "double dose" mind you, you need to do it manually...Good luck!

Bought this because of price and the style of this stove.Delivery and packaging were good, it comes in a useful wooden box.I am 65yrs and fitted this stove on my own but had to remove the Grate,Inner linings and Door so that i could lift it into position.This stove may seem small but it generates plenty of heat.It heats a 12'x11'dining room with adjoining 11'x6' kitchen with open doorway and open hatchway very effectively and with the room door open will circulate warm air into the hall,stairs and landings.Heat also transfers through the wall to the adjoining washroom and via the chimney to the airing room and WC room upstairs.( I live in a Victorian semi detached house). Top Coffee!

I saw these in Italy about 5 or 6 years ago, and bought one on my return to England. I've never had any issues with cup sizes (I use regular espresso or cappucino cups), and mine came with a metal spout, which has always fitted without any problem.It still makes fantastic coffee after 5 years.If/when it does finally throw in the towel, I'll be replacing it with one exactly the same.Edit: It's now around 10 years since I bought this machine and finally the boiler has died. Ten years of almost daily use is, I suspect, pretty remarkable in this day and age, however, I won't be replacing it with the same - I'll get this one fixed. It's worth it...

Beautiful dud

This is the coolest looking coffee machine I have seen. But, there are problems with the manufacturing / distribution. The first machine I ordered from Amazon came with a broken STEAMER knob: rendering the machine non-functional. Alas, the manufacturing problems extended to other components too: the part you place the coffee into comes with 2 containers: for making 1 cup or 2 cups, and they are meant to be interchangeable ... but the fit was so tight, one couldn't remove it. Stuck fast. Then, the plastic drippers (for 1 cup or 2 cups) didn't fit onto the metal interconnects ... just bad manufacturing.Amazon kindly sent a replacement machine. The replacement also came with a STEAM knob that is broken: stuck hard ... it didn't rotate or swivel at all, rendering the machine useless. Oh ... and worse ... the machine which was supposed to be NEW ... was totally wet inside the plastic bag it ships in (inside the box)... even though the outside box was dry. How can it be wet on the INSIDE of the plastic bags, but not outside them? Because ... it appears I was not sent a NEW machine ... someone before me had filled it with water, found the machine was not working, returned it to Amazon, and then the water condensed out of the machine in the plastic bag, covering the bag in water .... and worse ... RUSTING the top metal rail. What kind of stainless steel rusts from condensation from a plastic bag? I love the look of this machine, but after two attempts at getting one that works, I'm giving up.

Building my red empire -- KitchenAid 'for the way it's badly made' ...I'm knocking it down

This is what I felt after purchasing the machine until about two and half years down the line, I decided to give up and ask for a refund rather than order my fifth replacement.At one time, I thought Gaggia were second to none...I became a fan of KitchenAid after purchasing my Artisan burr grinder -- also in empire red -- which is what prompted me to purchase the matching Artisan espresso machine. KitchenAid build heavy weight, solid, robust, and durable appliances in die-cast metal. I love the retro look. This makes a very eye-catching centrepiece in my kitchen. A problem I have always had with espresso machines is the after-drip and excessive steam shooting everywhere after closing the pump, leaving my kitchen worktop soaked, and the atmosphere humid. This machine has a solenoid valve (a coil of wire which controls the flow of air or liquid; it converts electrical energy into mechanical energy which opens/closes the valve) which immediately reduces pressure when the pump is switched off; thus no drips or excess steam. The drip tray accommodates simultaneous milk frothing and brewing together. I like the fact the tray is directly under the nozzle too so when clearing the nozzle you can spurt steam directly into it; no mess. The steam nozzle pivots at all angles which is good if you have a larger frothing jug, which I do. I have found the Gaggia Evolution and previous espresso machine I owned prior to that to be terribly noisy with bubbling, gurgling, and clunking noises from the pump -- the Artisan Espresso maker is very very quiet.. Now for the real test -- the espresso crema... I pull a perfect one every time! I find if you press the hot water button, it expedites the frothing temperature level. If using the hot water feature, do not allow the steam boiler to heat more than a quarter over the black marker otherwise it will spurt everywhere; you need to allow some steam to spurt through the nozzle into the drip tray first, then the water will come out. It is truly a professional and industrial machine, yet compact enough for your home. I thoroughly recommend it, and with KitchenAid, the parts will always be readily accessible.NB: unfortunately, despite my above initial rave review, I've now been through four of these machines under warranty, and am looking to purchase a different brand. It's not up to it. The secondary steam boiler has stopped building up pressure after about five to six months usage and the temperature dials go haywire. I've knocked my review rating down to two stars.

A triumph of form over function

I'm on machine number 6 (actually, I think it might be 7 or 8, but I'm not completely sure) in less than 2 years. I've done nothing extraordinary, I make around 2 to 3 cups of espresso per day, I look after it fastidiously and I live in a soft water area. This machine is a great bit of kitchen furniture but is, without doubt, the most unreliable piece of kit I have ever owned - for me to have gone through so many machines convinces me that the design must be inherently flawed.I have given it one star because of the brilliant warranty and aftercare - Kitchenaid send a new one out via courier and collect the broken one each time. But I just don't have the heart to continue - this must have cost them far more than me and I've finally lost confidence. They've offered me a refund and I've accepted.

Stylish, gorgeous coffee!

I've had my cream Artisan Espresso machine for about a month now and I'm delighted with it. I had wanted to move on from stove top mocha express devises and had been researching pumped Espresso machines for a while, the KitchenAid took me with a first glance! This is a stunning piece of industrial design, infinitely better looking in the flesh than in pictures and if you fall for it's looks than nothing else will do!So how dose it perform? Wonderfully well! The very first shot of Espresso pulled was just great including a near perfect creama, what more could you ask for? There is no point in me regurgitating the technical specifications of the machine but I'm sure that the twin boilers are a considerable asset because the brew water is never over heated while you have steam ready all the time and of course once you are adept you can brew and steam at the same time. I'm inclined to think that a commercial grade 58mm chrome plated brass portafilter is essential as this really dose hold its temperature and leads to greater consistency. The supplied tiny plastic tamper is really quite inadequate other than to get you started, I've now purchased a Reg Barber one which is an immense improvement allowing the ideal compacting of any grind of coffee into the portafilter, this is important as it's one of the greatest influences on the extraction of the coffee. The supplied milk jug is nice but a little on the small side, only suitable for single helpings of Cappuccino, no big deal really as a twin shot of Espresso makes one Cappuccino!Negatives! Right, the largest hassle with the Artisan is the change from steam to hot water and this dose take a bit of time, your expecting water but end up with spitting steam, the manual dose remark on this but it's a pain, you need a largish jug to dump this into because it's quite messy, no, very messy! I was making Americano the other day and got this wrong, we are talking coffee everywhere here! This is something I have not as yet sorted out, again no big deal as a kettle is simpler anyway!In conclusion this is a great Espresso machine and I am recommending it, there is also a matching coffee grinder that I will be purchasing soon, these will look beautiful together and I will post my experience with it soon.If you are considering a pumped Espresso machine and you like the look of the KitchenAid, just go for it! It is the real thing!
